SECTION 01

The Situation

A strong product
looking for its audience.

Amaryllo is a smart home and cloud technology company operating across TW and US markets. When I joined, the product was technically solid — but the company was still building its customer base, and the digital presence and cloud USB product needed a clearer design language and marketing story.

My scope covered the product ecosystem: the public-facing website, the mobile app, the desktop cloud backup platform, the physical USB product packaging, and the Amaryllo Cloud service experience. Much of it needed to be built or rebuilt from scratch.

"There were no clients before this. The design work was an opportunity to help create the experience that would bring customers in — and that felt like a real responsibility."

SECTION 02

What I Delivered

Contributing across the full ecosystem — from packaging on the shelf to the cloud service people migrated into.

SCOPE OF WORK
  • 01Full website redesign (Wix + WordPress)
  • 02Mobile app UX/UI design
  • 03Desktop cloud backup application UI
  • 04Physical USB product packaging design
  • 05Amaryllo Cloud service interface
  • 06Developer collaboration on usability
  • 07Sales support: affiliate partnerships & exhibitions
THE USB CLOUD PRODUCT
  • Plug-in USB device that backs up automatically
  • Downloads the app → device activates seamlessly
  • Contributed to the full packaging experience
  • Redesigned the desktop app UI for backup management
  • Supported cloud service adoption and migrations
  • Users began migrating existing data to Amaryllo Cloud
SECTION 03

The Process

Working across every surface — website, packaging, desktop, mobile, and cloud — so design decisions could reinforce each other.

01

Discovery & audit

Reviewed the existing product across all platforms. Identified inconsistencies in visual language, usability gaps in the desktop app, and a packaging design that didn't clearly communicate the product's core value.

02

Website redesign

Rebuilt the Amaryllo website and ASC Lite platform using Wix and WordPress. Focused on clearer product communication, better navigation structure, and making it easier for visitors to understand and try the product.

03

USB packaging & desktop app

Worked on the physical packaging for the cloud USB — a plug-in device that automatically backs up files when connected to a laptop. The goal was to communicate a simple, one-step setup. This was paired with a desktop app UI redesign for managing backups and cloud storage.

04

Mobile & cloud service UI

Designed UX flows and high-fidelity UI for the mobile app and Amaryllo Cloud service. Worked closely with developers to make sure usability improvements translated correctly into the live product.

05

Sales & growth support

Supported business growth through affiliate partnerships, client outreach, and representing Amaryllo at tech exhibition sales events — helping connect the design work to real commercial outcomes.

Measured post-redesign

Beyond the numbers, users began actively adopting the Amaryllo Cloud service and migrating their existing data — an encouraging signal that the product experience had built enough trust to earn a deeper commitment.

SECTION 05

Learnings

What this project taught me about trust, consistency, and working across an ecosystem.

01

Design can help create the conditions for trust

With no existing clients, the design work had to do a lot of the heavy lifting in communicating credibility. It was a good reminder that how a product looks and feels shapes whether people feel comfortable enough to try it.

02

Physical and digital should feel connected

Working on the USB packaging alongside the desktop app highlighted how important consistency is across surfaces. When they feel like one considered experience, it builds confidence in the product as a whole.

03

Working across the ecosystem is a privilege

Having visibility across website, app, desktop, packaging, and cloud meant design decisions could reinforce each other. It's not always possible to work this way, and I learned a lot from having that broader view.
